Celebrating Jammu & Kashmir Accession Day

 





On October 26, 1947, Maharaja Hari Singh signed the Instrument of Accession, formally integrating Jammu and Kashmir into India. This decision, commemorated annually as Accession Day, was pivotal in uniting the region with India during the tumultuous period of partition. The day honors historical figures like Maharaja Hari Singh, Brigadier Rajinder Singh, and General Zorawar Singh, who played crucial roles in the state's expansion, defense, and accession. The accession is celebrated for reinforcing unity, patriotism, and the ongoing integration of Jammu and Kashmir with India, particularly highlighted by the abrogation of Article 370, seen as a step towards further development under the term 'Naya Kashmir'.
